Australian Positron Beamline Facility
The Australian Positron Beamline Facility (APBF) started out as a collaboration between 4 Australian Universities (ANU, Griffith, Flinders and Charles Darwin Universities) and the CSIRO. It was funded by the Australian Research Council through the Linkage, Infrastructure and Equipment Fund program. The original design had plans for one positron beamline which was to be used for atomic and molecular physics as well as materials science, by making use of two experimental end stations which could be switched for the different experiments.
With the advent of CAMS, the scope of activities at the APBF has expanded so that now there are two positron beamlines, a dedicated beam for each of the two experimental activities. For further information on the operation of the beamlines and experimental plans, follow the links on the right.
