Dr. Radhika Naik
Position
Post-doctoral research fellow
Institution
ANSTO
Expertise
Nuclear chemistry, inorganic chemistry, basic background in nuclear physics
Research in the Centre
After receiving her PhD in Nuclear chemistry from Oregon State University, USA in 2007, Radhika joined the ANSTO node of CAMS as a post-doc in Institute of Materials Engineering (IME). Her research mainly involves utilising radiotracers and novel nuclear probes for studying structure-function relationships in materials. Use of highly efficient and sensitive radiotracer techniques allows development of high-throughput methods. These can then be used in investigation of surface chemistry and transport properties of porous materials and surfaces. This information is valuable in scoping potential applications of such materials in various fields such as environmental studies, medicine, materials engineering etc.
