Research in the Centre
Dr. Casten Makochekanwa was awarded his PhD from Yamaguchi University, Japan, in 2004. His work then concentrated on the production of a low-energy positron beam using a tungsten moderator and it's use for scattering experiments, and the subsequent comparison with electron impact cross sections. After his PhD his experience extended to work developing a technique for electron-molecule impact neutral radical formation and inner-shell photoexcitation. His involvement in the centre will focus around the search for resonances in positron collisions using the high resolution beam at the ANU.
