Research in the Centre
Tony Sergeant has recently completed his PhD from The University Western Australia (2007). His project was in the area of Surface Science studying surface electronic structure, adsorption phenomena, thin film growth and electron scattering dynamics. He worked towards the development of a new low-energy two-electron coincidence spectroscopy with spin-polarized incident beam. Current interests involve studies of electron correlation and spin-dependent phenomena in magnetic and nonmagnetic surfaces using electrons and positrons as projectiles. Within the CAMS Centre work will involve the construction of a variable low-energy electrostatically confined positron beam to complement our existing expertise in electron scattering.
