The Centre for Antimatter-Matter Studies (CAMS) is a collaboration of Australian universities and research institutions performing research on positron and electron interactions with matter, from single atoms to biological molecules, surfaces and materials. The wide ranging research program brings together some of Australia's top scientists from a broad range of disciplines.

- Flinders Node welcomes Professor George da Silva

The Flinders University node recently welcomed sabbatical visitor Professor George da Silva, who is from the Federal University of Mato Grosso (UFMT) in Brazil. George will be visiting Flinders University for 12 months and working on CAMS-related experiments. He also hopes to travel to other CAMS nodes during his stay in Australia. We all welcome George and hope that he and his family have a successful and happy stay in Australia.

The most recent Fellows of the American Physical Society (FAPS), for calendar year 2012, have been announced. Our own Professor Dmitry Fursa of CAMS was honoured as on of the new Fellows, with the citation for his fellowship reading "For the development of the convergent close-coupling method for quasi two-electron targets". We extend our hearty congratulations to Prof. Fursa on this great honour.
