Ron White Promoted

Congratulations go to CAMS James Cook University Node Director and Executive Member, Ron White, who has just been promoted to Associate Professor. Ron heads the Centre's transport theory group, which has recently been cited as having developed "the most rigorous and complete treatment of electron transport" available, and which under Ron's leadership is making great strides in formulating a new transport analysis for positrons in soft condensed matter, with applications to PET in mind. It has been a big year for Ron, and not only in research. He received an Australian Learning and Teaching Council National Citation, and a JCU Faculty Citation for Teaching Excellence. He was Invited Speaker at the XVI International Symposium Electron- and Photon- Molecule Collisions and Swarms, Toronto, and was awarded substantial Queensland Smart State funding to work on Organic Solar Cells together with colleagues at the University of Queensland and JCU.
